APO expands its team and is proud to welcome Sammy Carlson to the global team. Sammy is a Five-Time X Games Medalist, including Slopestyle Gold and Big Air Bronze in last year?s Winter X Games. Sammy also has also earned numerous wins and podiums at the Dew Tour, FIS World Championships, King of Style, JOSS, and Freestyle.ch. Constantly progressing and innovating the sport, Sammy was the first skier to execute a switch triple cork 1260. He is also well known for his video parts in films from Poor Boyz Productions and Teton Gravity Research, and recently produced his second ski film this summer, On Top of the Hood. Sammy says "I am stoked to join the APO team. We will be building skis from the ground up, the right way! The ski designer has over 20 years of experience shaping skis and snowboards, and he created the first slanted sidewall ski, the Scratch. We are working on a pro-model park ski coming out next year and we will also start working on a pro-model pow ski. I am excited to bring APO into the ski world, APO has been a snowboard brand for over 20 years. Keep your eyes out for some fresh videos brought to you by myself and APO. Support the movement!" Sammy uses the Hutch 78 for the park riding and the Rocko 86 in the backcountry. And he is currently working on a design for his new pro model skis in 2012-13. Welcome back brathas and sistas. This was a very busy Weak. Sent it to California again with the very talented Shane Mcfalls of the Traveling Circus. After spending some quality time in the van to and from Boreal I headed back to VT where the first day back I went to Sugarbush for a glorious down rail. I miss California greatly, the guys over at High Fives foundation are doing an amazing job at what they do, being friends with them is an honor. Make sure to fallow them and the Traveling Circus for those two companies are the future. Enjoy and see you next Weak! iancomptonsweak.com linetravelingcircus.com highfivesfoundation.org -Compton
...LIKE WINTER OF WELLS ON STEROIDS For the past two years "Winter of Wells" has enjoyed cult status: hundreds of thousands of viewers have followed the 22 episodes of the online documentary about Jossi Wells and his ski-obsessed family. But that's not enough, according to director Tim Pierce: since the start of the year he has been shooting a DVD documentary about Jossi, Byron, Beau and Jackson Wells and their parents Bruce and Stacey. "The story of the Wells family is one of the most exciting tales there has ever been in action sport," says Pierce, "Which is why I want to introduce this unique family, which has spawned four of the most talented freeskiers in the world." In 52 action-packed minutes, viewers are not only given a surprising insight into the dynamics of an exceptional family. They get to experience skiing at a whole new level. "This docu-DVD aims to give the fans more than ever before. It's like 'Winter of Wells' on steroids." "Winter of Wells -- The Documentary" will be released online and on DVD in fall 2011.
