Britain’s Rowan Cheshire has won gold in the woman’s halfpipe event at the FIS Calgary World Cup last Friday. The 18 year old has topped the podium only 35 days ahead of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Following the fire in the main chalet building in April 2012, Sheffield Ski Village has fallen into a state of disrepair. So much so, that earlier this year, the city council threatened to take legal action against the site’s owner Mr Pullan, declairing SSV an eyesore due to excessive fly-tipping. Over the past two years, there have been many murmours as to what will become of the site. However only earlier this week Mr Pullan has announced that he is in the process of putting together preliminary plans for a 70-house development on the site.

Following some heavy snowfall last week, Cairngorm Mountain near Aviemore opened up for the 2014 season on the 9th of November. As well as being the first ski hill in the UK to open up, Cairngorm opened ahead Whistler, Vail and Alta, to name but a few.
According to a report by the New Zealand Herald, a Swedish skier fell 600m to his death early on the morning of Sunday 3rd. The individual has since been named as 32 year-old Magnus Kastengren by Sweedish Authorities.
The British Indoor Champs is always one of the biggest events of the summer season and with the change of location to Chill Factore, we were keen to find out exactly what went down.
