UK SNOW FILM FEST – The Perfect Start to winter

UK SNOW FILM FEST – The Perfect Start to winter The UK Snow Film Fest opened its doors on Thursday 26th November to a room packed full of eager snow enthusiasts with Standard Films’ Black winter kicking off the proceedings the pace was set for an epic revolutionary night of snow movies. Viewers were wowed by an all-star cast of the world’s best skiers and snowboarders laying down some awe inspiring segments, but it was little known Japanese production CAR DANCHI, a pure powder fest from start to finish, that stole the show. Check out the site for more up and coming offerings from the Car Danchi crew. Friday had a lot to live up to and it surpassed our debut night in every sense. Elektro kicked things off, with it’s thumping sound track and pure adrenalin pumping segments the crowd were amped for a huge night! Our packed venue required extra seating and beer space as the nachos and poutine emptied out the kitchen so the movies kept coming with showcases from the likes of Grain media, Lock down Project, and Method TV getting some big laughs and cheer. Nimbus Indepentent’s Contrast and Poor Boyz Everyday’s a Saturday saw the only UK leg of their world famous triple threat tour and left the crowd hungry for more. Our lucky raffle winners bagged some incredible prizes ranging from West Beach jackets to free driving lessons and one lucky boy took home a brand new pair of AR6 Armada Skis. By the time the final movie had finished no one wanted to leave - and so they did not - our banging after party hosted by DJ biftathekid featured a guest appearance from MC Skandal and kicked off before a back drop of ski and snowboard movies on the big screen, we pushed on until the early hours. We want to say a huge thank-you to all who were able to come and show their support! After two nights of amazing movies, music, food, drink, mountain banter, prize giveaways and a whole lot of cheering and whooping. THE UK SNOW FILM FEST has much more planned so keep an eye on our website: www.snowfilmfest.co.uk for details of our next event. You’re all in for a treat!

PBP TV: A Northwest November

PBP TV - A Northwest November It has been one November to remember with record snowfall in Whistler BC, early openings across WA, and a crazy stoke has people running to the hills and chasing the deep snow. Luckily we were on top of it! This November saw Mike Henitiuk, Tim Durtschi, Riley Leboe, Brandon Kelly, Charley Ager, TJ Schiller, and others sessioning the almost never ending snowfall. Things started out fast in Whistler BC! While the Whistler premiere of Every Day is a Saturday went off at The Longhorn Saloon the mountain was being assaulted with over 80 cms of snow. It was then followed by 3 more days of similar snowfall. We spent 2 days breaking trail and searching for pillows what a wonderful start. The next week followed suit with a quick trip to Mt Baker WA to meet up with Timmy D! It continued, sometimes to deep but the goods were had! Check out the short recap in a Northwest November to witness a quick tease! A Special thanks to Ryan Proctor at Whistler Blackcomb, Amy at Mt Baker, Dan Carr, Grant Gunderson, and Zack Giffin. PS - Coming soon a POV version from November, featuring Mike Henitiuk (www.mikehenitiuk.com)

Baker Shooting Henitiuk, Leboe, Durtschi!

Jeff Thomas hooked up with Myself, Henitiuk and Leboe for some Pacific Northwest Pow shooting Activities. I was real excited to get some real skiing in before the mellowness of the Holidays settled into my daily routine. I for sure got my ski legs back before December, and that is a good thing. It was fun to meet up with Henituk and Leboe, Hopefully get to ride with Henituk more often since he has a BANGER sled to shred with now. Also excited to ski the PNW some more this winter since they are getting plenty of snow. If filming keeps going as well as it is, we should see another solid January Teaser for next years movie named.... wait I don't know the name.

Check out this recent article on Newschoolers.com with the Head Honchos of Poor Boyz, as we talk about this years film and all the good stuff we've got in store for you!   Interview by Jeff Schmuck So you guys just wrapped up the gigantic and all-out epic Triple Threat Tour. How'd it go? Jeff Thomas: The tour was a great success with more than 50 stops across North America and Europe. It all started in Seattle with our wild and very successful world premiere and it actually just in finished up on Sunday during opening weekend in Whistler, BC, where many athletes and viewers were in full partying force. I think I saw you there Mr. Schmuck, or was that your evil twin? Anyways, we had a lot of memorable events but we must thank everyone that came out and supported the tour. You guys made it possible! We can't wait to continue the fun in 2010. Johnny Decesare: Yeah I only went to a few but each one of them was really good and the world premiere was off the hook. I would say it was a massive success. And then just a few days after the tour ends, you guys are releasing another movie, Jib Jam 2. Do you guys ever stop working? Johnny Decesare: (laughs) We're Poor Boyz, not Rich Boyz, so we have to keep working! Jeff Thomas: Nope. We just wrote and shot the third movie in the Ski School Series as well. Just kidding but that would be awesome. We are just working hard on providing the viewers with as much as we can and the support has been incredible. Tyler Hamlet: And that's only the work we want you to know about. You should see the stuff we have going on in front of the lens already for next year's movie. Alport is getting it done. . . . . I am on my way up to Mt. Baker to do some shooting with Ross Reid and Jeff Thomas. I hear they are getting Dumped on, they are getting feet amounts. I am real excited, it will be the first film shoot of the year, question is will it be too deep to be documented on film... Also I am riding for Smith Goggles now, really stoked to be backed by them. http://www.smithoptics.com/team.html?id=343 Also was browsing through a Japan Magazine called Freeskiing, they had a good write up on Everyday Is a Saturday that I could not read, but they spelled my name Tim Darchi, haha the funniest spelling I have thus far.

Just a fall update from Canada

Howdy internetland! Jeff Thomas here. Just a little fall update from the Northern Provinces. Hopefully you have had the opportunity to check out all of the movies from this season. I may be biased but quite enjoyed that movie EDIAS...but also be sure to check back very very soon for the new.... JIB JAM 2. It will be available for download in our digital download store in just a few days! It's pretty super. The best park and some of the most unique stuff I ever seen go down. Be sure to check it out because it includes everything you haven't seen, and everything you have wanted to see. Lots of footage from up and comers, new PBP athletes, and some of your favorite super stars. Anyhow, also just wanted to pass on a little update since we have two of my favorite premieres coming up this coming week. We have the all ages Vancouver premiere w/after party on November 7th at 7pm at the Granville 7 Cinemas. In addition to that we have the very rowdy, extra special, Whistler Premiere. If you are of age, and in the area, I wouldn't miss Whistler on Sunday Nov 15th at 9 pm. We have tons of product, skis, and athletes to give away. Or athlete poster signing's that is. Anyways, it has been an eventful fall for me and the crew. Lots of premieres, lots of new things, and I got married. I joined the old man ranks with Mr Johnny D! I think Tyler or Charley will be next to fall down the aisle :) jk boys. Either way I hope everyone has had a great fall. We are preparing for another killer movie, and alot of new things over here at PBP. So be sure and check back soon, and if you are able to make one of the last few premieres up in Canuck land be sure to say "yo"! - Jeff Thomas

I rule!

My husband always bugs me about leaving the house every Thursday because its his poker night with his friends. Its like I'm going to embarrass him or something. We argued about it for a while but when I think about the pros, it actually worked out for me. At least I won't be acting as their servant, bringing them food and stuff. I would also have an excuse to spend some of his hard-earned money with my friends. So this one Thursday night I really did not feel like going out and convinced him to let me stay in the house. I then told him that I would be his servant with out any complaints and a smile on his face showed that won the conversation and at the same time made me think that I should be prepared for hard work. Anyway, I also know about poker myself because I've been wanting to know what the fuss is all about and started to read an essay writing about it. I know the ropes to the game and surprised to see that my husband sucked big time. He was loosing hand after hand. I know I wasn't supposed to embarrass him in front of his friends but I just couldn't stand knowing that money that could have been well spent in shopping for shoes was being wasted on his awful card playing. I knew I had to do something, I demanded that I should play a hand and try to at least salvage his loosing streak. I am proud to say that I won the hand that I played and about fifteen more. His friends were amazed about how well I played. I acted cool outside but I was thinking hell yeah! I rule this game!
