Four time champion LJ Strenio is looking to reclaim his Rails 2 Riches dominance. Current defending champion John Kutcher isn't ready to give up the throne. A fierce battle is sure to ensue. Be sure to make your way to Killington, VT Saturday December 8th to witness the SagaFam duke it out on the metal for pride, glory, bragging rights and a nice pile of cash.
Live Fire is a section from En Route Departure. So much fun to shoot. We filmed this after a huge snow storm cleared out of Mammoth. We drove to Nevada and did some sled access at a United States Marine Corps Mountain Warefare Training Facility. Pretty much full on military zone, we could hear gun fire going off in the background as we were skiing. Crazy snow-tanks and troops on skis. Skiing was great. I'm going back for sure.
I can't color correct sorry https://vimeo.com/96993415

Short edit that I made from my backyard rail setup.
Nick Mota, local Tahoe City resident and renowned Meat Cannon/Luge Expert worked for 7 days straight tirelessly building gypsy features with a crew of dedicated friends on the secret slopes of Tahoe Donner. What resulted was truly a spectacle of berms, banks, hips, rhythm jumps and poppy booters with a fair share of scary must-make gaps that together created what we all know as the course for the Second Annual Nick Mota Invitational. With one drop-in, the course split into two separate tracks; the "Meat Luge," a winding and twisting trail of rhythm jumps, 90 degree berm turns and a hip, and the "Meat Cannon," a line that showcased a near-vertical aerials-style jump, a death-defying 35' gap, and a gelande style high-speed sender. With this monstrous snow creation the stage was set for Tahoe's best skiers and riders to risk it all. It's hard to describe it in words, perhaps a video would do the trick.
We've said it before, and we'll say it again- it's NOT getting any easier to chose our Finalists, and the line between these entries and our Semi-Finalists is a thin one, to say the least. However, after weeks of reviewing them all, watching them dozens of times over and over, and polling a panel of our athletes, crew, and people throughout the ski industry whose opinions we respect the most, these 9 entrants rose to the top, based on their style, creativity, skill, and the long term potential that we feel they have. Watch all the videos from the Semi-Finalists and vote your favorite to fill the 10th spot: level1productions.com/news_detail.cfm?ID=459
