If you've ever been to Carinthia, chances are you've seen Rory Bruder, if not then you've definitely seen his work. It's all around you in each and everyone of our park builds. As our head of fabrication, over the past ten years Rory has been responsible for designing and building the majority of the rails, boxes, and other features for Carinthia, as well as other mountains in the Peak Resorts family, such as Hunter Mountain, Attitash, Crotched Mountain and Big Boulder. Beyond that, he has also made a significant and lasting mark on the C-Team over the past seven years with his creative and refreshing style of snowboarding. Whether in front of the lens, behind a welding mask, or just over breakfast in the Cairnthia Lodge, Rory is always doing something new, different, and creative. Starting this December, on the first Monday of every month we will be showcasing the people behind the scenes that truly make Carinthia Parks what it has become today. Rob Black is definitely on the top of that list. As assistant manager of Carinthia, Rob has done it all. From building and setting features on hill, operating heavy machinery, to building and innovating wooden features for his all-time favorite park, prospector. His work ethic speaks for itself, he's always lending a hand, and taking the extra time to make sure things are moving and sliding smoothly. Rob Black is our first Carinthia Creator
Is there such a thing as too deep? The record-breaking storm Stella of 2017 brought incredible amounts of snow to the forests of Jay Peak, VT. The Ski The East crew ventured out into chest deep snow during a truly memorable and exhausting day of blind turns, choking snow and sometimes simply being stuck. With a firing winter in 2017, a collaboration of like minded individuals, and highlighted up and coming talents on the East Coast linked up and got after it. As Burlington, VT being their home city, the crew consisting of Level 1 SuperUnknown Finalist Zach Masi, Semi Finalist Alex Keimel, and Mark Hendry set out to find the city's best and most creative street spots. The crew also traveled to Boston in search of some renowned and iconic spots around the city. We proudly present Queen City, our short film from the 2017 season. We set out to film and capture a little glimpse of what the East Coast Urban scene has to offer, as well as having fun and staying true to ourselves.
