Banged Up

“Banged Up” is the much anticipated follow-up to Sam Zahner and Calvin Barrett’s debut film “70/30”. Winding their way through the streets of Colorado, Minnesota, and Massachusetts, Sam and Calvin were joined by Mike Cappola, Seamus Flanagan, Scrappy Joe, and Pete Koukov. After countless cold days and painful nights, last minute cross-country drives chasing storms that didn’t happen, endless shoveling and a surplus of slams, the title could not be a more accurate depiction of Winter 17/18 through the eyes of the crew.

Liberty Skis // Max Moffatt "Roots"

We visit Liberty Skis athlete Max Moffatt in his hometown of Caledon, Ontario, to see what it is like to grow up skiing in Eastern Canada. The project reveals a behind the scenes look into where everything started for the 18 year-old Canadian National Slopestyle Team athlete. The journey begins in Max's back yard at Caledon Ski Resort. The resort is home to a tight-knit group of of die-hard skiers, including the Moffatt family. Moffatt spent his early days learning to ski at the hill, and then later joined the Caledon race team. The resort plays a huge part in the love and passion that Max has today for skiing. After a few days at home, Max headed to Mount St. Louis Moonstone. What the resort lacks in vertical feet it makes up for with the world-class terrain park; it is home to some of the best skiers in the world. Kim Boberg and Oliver Karlberg set out to film a movie in a place called Alvdalen, to use what you got instead of seeing whats not there. This movie was filmed within the area of a maximum range of 1-hour drive away from Alvdalen. Connor Clayton | Comeback Season

I've had kind of a rough past two years ski wise. With blowing my right knee out once in 2015, and then re-tearing the same knee the following year in 2016, it was questionable whether or not skiing was still worth it. After months on months of rehab, I got the okay to get back on my skis this past January, and while I was scared shitless of hurting my knee again everyday I was skiing, I managed to have one of the best seasons of my life. I figured I'd call this my 'comeback season' as I never thought I would really come back into skiing right where I left off. I can't thank my family and friends enough for the constant and continued support that helped me get over my injuries, and I cannot wait to get back on my planks this season for another great winter with many more to come.

Will Wesson and Andy Parry - Head for the Hills (2008)

Throwback to arguably one of the most progressive urban segments of all time from Head for the Hills by Meathead Films. I decided to upload this since I stumbled upon the hard copy of the movie I had laying around. It showcases, what is in my opinion, the beginning of a new creative era in skiing. This was the year before Traveling Circus started: At the time, people were actually getting techincal on the streets, but not many thought outside the stock handrails, kinkers and switch-ups. Will and Andy really exploded people's minds with the outstanding creativity and open attitude in this segment: Andy doing rollerblade-esque tricks no-one understood at the time and Will being unbeliveably technical with his creative lines. And remember, this was before anyone had ever thought or heard of "newwave" or whatever the kids call it. This didn't go unnoted: Will was rewarded with the Best Jib-award at the Powder awards for the closing line, which included an underslide (the first one ever done I believe). Now, nearly a decade later, their attitude has not changed much at all with Line TC still going on strong and Will still hunting filling to his skiing spot collection. So enjoy this, nowadays even "low-key-ish" part of skiing history.
