Eric Hjorleifson (Hoji) needs little introduction. He is simultaneously an acclaimed professional backcountry athlete, and notorious gear tinkerer, designer, and fabricator. There is no equivalent, no one at his level of skiing proficiency with such a meticulous, hands-on approach to their own personal equipment. Hoji's brilliance in both skiing and design was recently highlighted by the launch of a new backcountry ski boot he developed in collaboration with Dynafit over the course of several years. This is certainly a milestone in Hoji’s career as an athlete-designer, but it definitely won’t be the last. Quietly, thoughtfully, and with little fanfare or celebration, Hoji will undoubtedly continue to work in the shadows, finding solutions and improvements that will benefit skiers across the globe. Hoji's unique abilities, and deep level of care for a better experience in the mountains is why we reached out to him in 2012 with our first Dissent prototypes. We have always appreciated his input, ideas, and the ability to test gear to its limit. Today, we feel the same way we did then: the most important gear improvements are the result of a relentless focus on the details, executed by people who truly understand and care about their time in the mountains. I recently got back from what was probably the best six's months of my life. Maad shout outs to all the fam and homies that helped me out in any way. Managed to get a few tricks filmed this season and the result ended up being this 3 minute edit of me. I hope you enjoy it! Bless.

Attempt at the west couloir of graywolf peak in the mission mountains. Huge day trying to conquer this beast while battling fussy weather. The skies finally cleared revealing that the main chute was too runnelled out to ski from the top, so we skied a spicy pincher chute looker's right. It was 3 inches on top of pretty firm snow, which made for one of the most intense lines I have ever skied. Spring skiing in full effect!!!

Had a awesome time ripping around Alta Ski resort during the month of January. Storm after storm the snow never stopped falling so it was only necessary that we had to send it. Thank you mom and dad for teaching me how to ski. Also a big thanks to all the ski bums out there who are keeping the stoke alive.

50 ft nightmare of a rope swing at Causey Reservoir
Had the best season of my life skiing Mt. Snow, and Big Boulder. Some of the best few months of my entire life skiing the deepest snow of my life and finally getting a pass at the greatest park on the east coast. Shout out to all the DOGS and Carinthia parks.
