Attempt at the west couloir of graywolf peak in the mission mountains. Huge day trying to conquer this beast while battling fussy weather. The skies finally cleared revealing that the main chute was too runnelled out to ski from the top, so we skied a spicy pincher chute looker's right. It was 3 inches on top of pretty firm snow, which made for one of the most intense lines I have ever skied. Spring skiing in full effect!!!
Stoke the Flame Part 3 is the concluding video for the series. We hoped for blue skies and stable snow packs this spring. Boy were we wrong. Snow continued to fall day after day right until the end of the season leaving the snow pack less than desirable and forcing us to stick to the trees. Many days we lost to complete white outs, rapid temperature changes, rising freezing levels and high avalanche conditions. We were however blessed to ski some of the deepest powder we have ever seen. The Common Thread: Ep 3 // B.C. -> MT In the midst of a tough semester at MSU, spring break showed promise of deep snow in the Great White North so we packed up and send it to Nelson B.C., when we arrived we were met with a week of rain, snow, friends and 18+ bars. Back in Montana it was a wild spring with everything from deep snow to warm spring days. We were able to get the camera out for a few days and capture some of the debauchery and this is the result. From living in the wonderland that is Rusutsu to discovering Hokkaido, skiing the great jungle of bamboos, the familial and the steep parts full of mushrooms and broken trees, discovering the softest snow in Japan, touring around the infinite backcountry areas and meeting the smiliest persons in the world : our trip to Rusutsu Resorts was definitely our favorite experience of the trip to Japan we made this past January.
