Between The Trees 2.0

For some time, I have been playing with the idea of producing a powder project. Last season, together with photographer Michael Fasching, I worked on a project called #betweenthetrees. It was just a photoshooting. The primarily positive feedback on this project motivated us to continue working on projects like that one. This is how we got the idea for Between the Trees 2.0. The motto of my employer Blue Tomato, “Work hard, ride harder”, gave me the idea to combine these aspects, work and leisure, in Between the Trees 2.0. Together with Nico Schmidt (a filmmaker from Schladming), and Michael Fasching (former photographer of Blue Tomato) I found the fitting creators for the project. So therefore, we decided to realise the project in season 18/19. Lucky for us, the New Year started with massive snow falls. The perfect conditions for shooting Between the Trees 2.0. The Common Thread: Ep 3 // B.C. -> MT In the midst of a tough semester at MSU, spring break showed promise of deep snow in the Great White North so we packed up and send it to Nelson B.C., when we arrived we were met with a week of rain, snow, friends and 18+ bars. Back in Montana it was a wild spring with everything from deep snow to warm spring days. We were able to get the camera out for a few days and capture some of the debauchery and this is the result. 17/18 was another good season for the Kootenays! I spent most of my winter around Nelson BC but I made it to Red Mountain near Rossland BC a couple times to ski park, it was dialled and sooo much fun! I also took a trip to Sunshine Village in the spring, they're open till May 21st and have a great park and even better people!! Stoke The Flame. Part 3

Stoke the Flame Part 3 is the concluding video for the series. We hoped for blue skies and stable snow packs this spring. Boy were we wrong. Snow continued to fall day after day right until the end of the season leaving the snow pack less than desirable and forcing us to stick to the trees. Many days we lost to complete white outs, rapid temperature changes, rising freezing levels and high avalanche conditions. We were however blessed to ski some of the deepest powder we have ever seen.
