Wyrd - Whistler Season Edit 16/17
Fun times in Whistler this past winter. Was able to ski a couple lines I had been looking at for a little while, explore new areas, and enjoy a couple of pow days in between.

https://skiaddiction.com/ Switch Cork 540s are a fun way to get truly corked for the first time! Instead of being on a flippy Switch Rodeo axis or being perfectly upright with a Switch 540, the Switch Cork 5 allows you to get slightly inverted to maximize style. Learn it now with Dean's 5 step formula! https://skiaddiction.com/ In this tutorial, we are teaching you how to Lipslide those rails. While this is considered a fairly basic jib trick on skis, because your tails have to go over the feature the Lipslide can be a difficult trick to learn. Use the tips in this tutorial to learn the Lipslide, so you're stomping them next time you're in the park. Collection of my favorite shots from this winter in the terrain parks. Thanks to Flatbush Zombies and anyone who filmed. Open your mind.
We filmed aspiring pro skier Ahren Stein for a few laps and this is what we came up with. Headphones and mayonnaise recommended.

https://skiaddiction.com/ A Nollie, is where you pop from the tips of your skis rather than the tails. Through mastering this skill, you'll be able to add a stylish variation into your jumping when popping over features, ropes, rollers and anything else that takes your fancy. Song - Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark - A compilation of my favourite shots from the last season. My approach to editing is heavily influenced by skate videos. I used (almost) no slow motion or filler and no go pro footage. No Bullshit. Big thanks to everyone who filmed and helped me dig my sled out. Thanks to Iron Maiden for your music not only in the context of this edit, but also for giving me focus on skis all winter. Thanks to TMC, Lange and Faction for keeping me rolling. Thanks to Mom and Dad and K for unwavering support. See you on the hill. insta: @jacob_boyd http://underwhiteskies.ca
Off doing summer things now (mostly playing disc golf and drinking loads) but thought we'd share this last episode. This one consists mostly of the shots we got through Intersection this season along with some others. Getting the stoke on for next season already! Enjoy!
A ginger. A skier. A legend? The following program is brought to you by Conor MacDonalds’s 2017 ski season, the first and possibly the last time Conor will be living in whistler. This was a season of pow. A season of friendship. A season to remember. Thank you to everyone who made it great! A special reminder that these stunts are not performed by professionals, so please try at home and do enjoy these highlights responsibly. Filmed by: Seth Gillis, Peter Wojnar, Jacob Boyd, Jeremy Acland, Essex Prescott Special thanks to: Sebastian Arciniega
YLESKI 2015 is the culmination of Wiley Miller?s 2015 winter season. Shot almost exclusively in the Columbia Mountains of interior British Columbia. The winter of 2015 was adverse in many areas of North America. Finding good conditions remained challenging. Patience, and persistence was key in finding safe, suitable snowpack. This is the second installment to the YLESKI series, highlighting the best of Wiley Miller and his approach to snow. ?I set out this winter to spend my time exploring new mountains, scouting lines, and finding natural airs in the terrain to work with. This season ski touring, route finding, and line selection were set in priority above building jumps and locating step-downs. It was an alternative I decided to take when the snow started to fly in November of 2014. I set out to do more skiing and less building, setting up-tracks versus cutting blocks for jumps. The sport becomes so dynamic when you?re working with larger terrain. It?s challenging, I love the experience, and constant education that takes place out there in the mountains.? https://skiaddiction.com/ How's your new wave skiing shaping up? Avoid your ski progression from 'hitting the wall' by aiming your skis directly at it! https://skiaddiction.com/ When it comes to Switch tricks, there are many opinions thrown around and inconsistencies with naming. The comparison has been made between Misty and Switch Rodeo and although they have similarities, a Switch Rodeo 9 is a smidge on the flippier side. In this tutorial, we are de-bunking the Switch Rodeo 900 and showing you how you can learn it on the tramp so you can confidently take it to the snow.
