It's always fun to be skiing high up in the mountains! This was one great day last week with Nic Hall. 1/25/2016
The last two days of November I went skiing with friends at two of my favorite backcountry zones. One zone offers fun gladed tree skiing with cliff drops and chutes. Perfect for those stormy days. The second zone is an alpine volcanic wonderland that is deep in the Central Oregon Cascades. Long approaches, but rewarded with steep and challenging skiing!
This is one epic day in the Chugach mountains of Alaska spent with friends Greg Stafford, Anna Kelly and Tess Carney. After a few stormy days, the weather finally cleared up and we sped up to the high country to climb and shred some big lines. Quite possibly the steepest and deepest powder skiing of my life and I somehow managed to dislocate my shoulder amidst a poor choice of slough management. My adrenaline was peaking so hard that it took me a good while to realize that something was wrong with my body! The intense pain while riding was surreal and luckily I made it to the bottom without falling. So thankful to have a wilderness first responder and a nurse in my crew to put my shoulder back into place! Such an awesome day in the mountains despite the injury! This film highlights skiing the Oregon backcountry during the 2014/2015 Winter season.
The 2015/2016 Winter has brought tons of snow to the Oregon backcountry. So much snow that we have been limited to some really fun tree skiing zone at lower elevations. This film highlights my favorite lines from five days in the backcountry during December and the first week of January.

Off the plane from New Zealand and straight into some seriously epic pow riding in Verbier. My first week in Europe was damn fine. It looks like we caught the unicorn though, seems like most of Europe is struggling, Champoluc in Italy where I am now based is certainly bare. Fingers crossed for more of this in the coming weeks!
Boyz Club shredbot, Jason Siegel, just dropped his winter break edit. Here is what he had to say about it: "Whether it's reconnecting to your passion, your breathe in a stressful situation, or your land, slowing down and reconnecting can do us all much good. During the weeks around christmas, I ventured out from Colorado on a lone venture to ski and explore. I slowed down, took a step back, and reconnected to myself, where I wanted to be, and what I wanted to do. I spent a fair bit of time in Lake Tahoe, my old stomping grounds, skiing and exploring just a few pockets of the vast Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. I also spent a week in Sonoma County taking life slow and rooting back to my home. Throughout my travels, I learned that slowing down enough to connect to yourself and your present environment will allow life to flow as it should, and the beauty of the universe will unfold and bring you what you need, when you need it. I hope that everyone get's out and connects to a place they love, and allows their true self to guide them through the flow of life."
