Winter has faded to spring and the desert season is upon us. We headed down south to Moab with a snowmobile, bikes, skis and camping gear. After a night of camping in the desert and sand it seems odd to suit up for a ski outing, but that is just what we did. Using the snowmobile to gain access to a zone we visited 3 years ago, we skinned to nearly 12,000ft. The views of red rocks and national monuments atop a snow covered line thru the rocks, is a thing of rare beauty. To cap off a few days of amazing skiing we also did the obligatory bike ride thru Moab's infamous slick rock. With the mountains we skied the day before in the background and single-track slick rock in front of us, it was an amazing few days. All POV video shot with Drift HD Ghost driftinnovation.com

Trimmings: Episode 3 "Our Backyard"

Apr 2013 - 634 views

This episode follows Montana locals getting out and exploring the vast wilderness that is just outside our back door. Montana has so much terrain, and so few people to get out and ski it, so the choices are endless if you are willing to put on those skins and break a sweat. Hiking into a zone is a completely different experience then you would get from riding a chairlift and the satisfaction after working hard to get up something and then being rewarded by fresh, untouched turns down is a feeling unmatched. This is a story about real people earning their turns and enjoying every minute of it. This is from my first heli trip. As a park rat from the East Coast, I nearly shit myself when I got to ski the terrain and powder that was in B.C. at Kingfisher Heli Skiing.
