Towering over northern Vermont sits Jay Peak, the East Coast powder mecca. With a special microclimate that produces upwards of 350" of snow annually, the Ski The East crew spends a few days exploring the woods around the mountain.
A perfect spring sunrise sets the backdrop for one the best jump sessions to ever go down at Sunday River, ME. Using the huge hits leftover from the annual Dumont Cup, the crew sends it all day long.
Will Wesson and Khai Krepela start off the 13/14 season with a bang in Burlington, VT. After a day sessioning Sugarbush, the crew heads down to Boston, MA in Khai's first-ever East Coast urban trip.
Cannon Mtn is gnarly. Big, steep, cold, windy and dowsed in plenty of snowfall each season, it's New Hampshire's glade skiing paradise. In March of 2014 the mountain received 25" of fresh and Griffin Dunne met up with local Stacey Rachdorf to reap the goods.

Ben discusses his deep family roots with the White Mountains. He and the crew hike and shred some of the lesser known areas around Mount Washington, NH and a mix of sun, clouds, wind, calm, snow and slush accompany them on their tours... pretty much standard for the mountain known to have "the world's worst weather."
The finale episode for the 2013 Carinthia Superpark... the best skiers from around the East Coast send it off a 70 ft. booter at Mount Snow, VT. A choice way to close out the season in late April.
Smuggler's Notch Resort has some steep and rowdy wooded terrain. Being located in the heart of Vermont's Green Mountains means the mountain is covered with 300+ inches of snow each season. In March, locals Carter Snow and Dominic Castine showed their Mad River Glen brethren around their home resort, shredding cliffs, trees and chutes despite the sometimes very windy conditions.
With conditions doubtful, Ben and Louise hike for miles into the NH backcountry in search of good snow. The hardwork pays off and they're rewarded with huge, open, untracked powder down some remote rock slides. Soon afterwards it snows 18" in the region and Ben is sure one of his favorite chutes is ready to rock. When hiking up, however, he discovers that all there is is pretty much rock. The fresh snow has blown away in the fierce winds. All is not lost, though, and at the top the crew discovers an amazingly narrow pincher chute like nothing they've seen before.
With the continuation of our Mount Snow/Carinthia Superpark shoot in April, the skiers set up some unique rail features to session. Jamie Ficco gets nicked in the back with a BB gun but still manages to through down on the burly quad kink and the gap-to-wave-rail allows for some sick variations. The wrecking ball was lead carinthia parks guru, Day Franzen's brainchild. And although it closely resembles Miley Cyrus's swing into infamy, this was actually set up months before that video ever came out. Therefore you won't see anyone swinging naked from it... sorry. Stowe Resort, located on Vermont's highest peak, Mt. Mansfield, is blessed with abundant snowfall each season. In late March and early April the crew ventured into the woods to explore some of their favorite stashes. During this late-winter time of year, the mountain is filled to the brim with the maximum snowpack and the lines that everyone has been scoping all year are finally skiable.
On the way to Mt. Washington, Ben decides to finally make a go at backcountry location in Maine that he's been scoping from the road. Most Maine woods are an impenetrable thicket, but Ben found a zone with wide open glades... he just had to wait for the right storm to fill it in.
Mad River Glen, VT has born and bred some of the best big mountains skiers in the world today. The resort is dedicated to providing an authentic, as-nature-intended skiing experience and it shows in their huge variety of glades, cliffs, gulleys and untracked snow to be found on powder days. Noah, Dylan and Carson took the day off of school in March to reap the bounty...

With a lackluster start to 2013, winter in New England returned with a nice February storm. Colby and Griffin ventured to Stowe without any expectations and were blown away by the conditions. Though the official storm measurement was only 12", it was DEFINITELY a little deeper than that. All in all, one of the most surprising days we've ever had... the crew hoofed it from 8am to 5pm to bag all the shots.

Last February, the Mid-Atlantic region received a three-foot snowfall followed a few days later by another two-foot dump, something that's never happened in recorded weather history there. Naturally, the Meatheads were following these biblical events closely and gathered an urban shred crew of Andy Parry, Shea Flynn and Will Wesson to look for skiable terrain. Shooting freeskiing in downtown DC is no easy task. Sneaking around with generators, winches, gasoline, cords, lights, tripods and camera equipment is virtually impossible with guards and police all over the National Mall area. However, with the insane blizzard having turned downtown into a virtual post-apocalyptic zone, the athletes were able to find the goods and (mostly) stay out of trouble. America truly is the greatest.
It was a fairly lackluster winter for the Meatheads' home mountain of Stowe, Vermont, but this crew knows where to find the stashes when it counts. They took advantage of the infrequent storms that blew through the area, and as anyone who has skied Stowe with a seasoned local knows, it doesn't take a lot of snow to make the woods shredable.
