Sölden 2015: The X - Freeski Teaser

It's no surprise anymore that Sölden and QParks, are very eager on building some big features at the end of every season. In recent years it was always about huge jumps, so this year the park armada wanted something more playful and the outcome is "The X"! It's mainly one big step up jump and two hips, but beside that the element offers room for various combos and tranny finder madness. This year the QParks Media Crew teamed up with the Atomic and Salomon Freeski Squad and grabbed some additional local rippers to start of the sessions! Last Thursday and early in the morning, the alarm clocks of the freeskiers Carsten Hansen, Corsin Naeff und Manuel Pleifer were buzzing like crazy. While some morning grouch might have just hit the snooze and gone back to sleep, our boys just needed a quick glance outside to jump out of their beds as happy as a clam. No wonder since the first sunrays on the horizon were just about to oust the dark of the night and put a sparkle on the fresh snow. A brief inquire at the QParks headquarters has turned out some impressive facts; consisting out of 298 sinewy helping hands, the QParks armada moves 961.000 cubic meter of snow through 29 QParks season after season. One park staff member has to work with 6448 cubic meter during one winter. The park crew spends 63.808 hours to shape all parks every year. Depending on the position and their working place, each person has to work 500 hours.The fleet of bullies and snow cats is always joining in with a helping hand. 24 skilled operators are using the massive machines 16695 hours during the season.
