I spent three weeks of January in Breckenridge, Colorado. I made the trip with midwest MC Tony Seyffer, bumming on various friends’ couches and floors. We met up another midwest MC, Matt Halverson for a while and shredded the parks of Breck and Keystone for the lens of good friend, Minnesota native, and now Keystone [...]

Jan 31st 2010 - 15 comments

The Big Air event at X-Games saw athletes pulling tricks never seen before, and as one ESPN commentator put it after TJ stomped a massive double cork 1620, “what in the wide world of sports was that!?” .. It’s the first time a double cork 1620 has been executed in competition. Video of this jump: TJ landed [...]

Put your skis away because TJ Schiller just closed down the sport of free skiing for the next couple of years. Last night at Winter X Games 10 Ski Big Air, TJ landed a double corked 1620. Yes that is correct, 1620. He just ruined the sport by progressing it way too fast. Because of an awesome couple of jumps by Bobby Brown, TJ had to settle for the silver but I am not sure he is that bent about it. WOW! WATCH TJ SCHILLER'S 1620 X GAMES VIDEO Results: 1) Bobby Brown - 100 2) TJ Schiller - 95 3) Elias Ambuhl - 90 4) Russ Henshaw - 89 5) Jossi Wells - 89

Day 1: 2010 X Games Slopestyle Results

by SkiersRealm
Jan 28th 2010 - 2 comments

Day 1 is over and so are the X games for a couple unfortunate professional skiers. Since only the top 8 move up, the men's slopestyle finals are going to be packed with the best. I wasn't really impressed with the double flipping straight rail riding competition today. I am stoked to see Sammy and Tom throw down with more style Saturday. Check out the Skiing Slopestyle Men?s Final on ESPN 2 this Saturday, January 30 at 4 pm- 6 pm. The women's slopestyle field was quite a bit smaller so the finals were held today. Kaya Turski, Keri Herman, and Grete Eliassen rounded out the top 3 with no real surprises. Men's 2010 X Games Slopestyle Elimination Results: (Top 8 Make it to Finals) 1 Andreas Hatveit, 2 Bobby Brown, 3 Russ Henshaw, 4 Sammy Carlson, 5 Tom Wallisch, 6 Phil Casabon, 7 Jossi Wells, 8 Matt Walker, 9 JF Houle, 10 Jacob Wester, 11 Elias Ambuhl, 12 Charles Gagnier, 13 Alexis Godbout, 14 TJ Schiller, 15 PK Hunder, 16 Colby West Women's 2010 X Games Slopestyle Final Results: 1 Kaya Turski, 2 Keri Herman, 3 Grete Eliassen, 4 Ashley Battersby, 5 Megan Olenick, 6 Sarah Burke, 7 Kristi Leskine

Today was the first day of actual competition at X-Games 14.  The day started off with men’s slopestyle qualifiers at 10am.  All predictions came true and even the qualifiers were extremely competitive.  Bobby Brown was the first athlete to drop and stomped an absolutely flawless run right away.  Everyone in the contest was killing it, [...]

Today marked the commencement of X-Games with athlete registration and Halfpipe training. Sage Cattabriga-Alosa Leaves Rossi and Signs With Atomic

by SkiersRealm
Jan 20th 2010 - 0 comments

Sage was rocking Rossignol and rocking it well for the last couple years. The Rossignol S7 complemented the way Sage skis and gave him the tools to confidently ski the biggest lines in Alaska. Now it looks like he will be rocking a pair of Atomic Bent Chetlers, but for how long? Because of the magnitude of this move there might just be a new Mr. Cattabriga-Alosa pro model ski in the near future. Only time will tell. For now we will ponder the fate of Rossignol and patently wait for new media from Atomic. Congrats Sage. READ THE PRESS RELEASE

He spent this past winter in Lake Tahoe, snowboarding and shooting photos every day. Ahhh, the life! [...]

Fun morning, not bad for a workday AM. Super super grey morning, super noisy photo….. whatever. It was fun. Hopefully next time we get up there it’ll be sunny in the morning and I won’t have to go 1000iso. Note for 2010: expect the blog to be functional again, and to have my site done.
