In the pursuit of filming backcountry skiing, getting tricks and skiing are the usually the least of your worries. Weather, snow conditions, avalanche safety, locations, snowmobiles, and other factors all have to line up before you can get a shot. The lack of snow this season has been frustrating, as everyone has felt. After weeks of zero snow in March, we saw a chance of snow in the forecast. Hungry to ski powder, we decided to load up the sleds and head to our favorite zone, where miraculously the storm came?and over delivered. After a very snowy evening of skiing, we arrived back in the morning to find our zone untouched, deep, and cloudless. With everything finally in our favor, we got to work and filmed the majority of this edit. After a very satisfying day, we drove home to the city where people were enjoying springtime activities, oblivious to the snow that had just fallen high in the mountains.
Had a great season this past year with all my friends, I couldn't have asked for a better one. This is what I got accomplished last season while having the time of my life.
In August Will and Andy, along with the fresh out of broken-knee-cap-rehab LJ Strenio all purchased wildly expensive plane tickets to the other side of the world, specifically to a small island nation in the southwest Pacific Ocean. Once landing on the island, the group acquired a camper van, a hand-drawn map of ski resorts, and an incredible lust for the local cuisine. The group then set a winding course on the south island of New Zealand in an epic quest for skiing, sight-seeing and one pie to rule them all.
With skiing going the way of dayglo snowsuits and spread eagles, it took a farm boy to bring power and style to the sport. In Part 1 of VICE Sports' three-part series, we see Pep Fujas' nontraditional path from growing up in a yurt to becoming one of freeskiing's most promising young talents.

Another season in Whistler has passed. Having a fair share of injuries was something that was new to me in skiing last winter. But as time goes on skiing just gets better and better and this season was one to beat, with or without snow. Seemed to do much of the filming this season and with my laptop calling it quits i couldn't be happier to have something to show! Took it easy this year and had a blast doing what i do. I wonder what ill do next year, simple...
5 of the last 6 summers I have spent on Mt. Hood. I had nothing to train for this past summer so I skied for myself and accomplished goals that I have had for a long time. If this was my last summer on Hood, I can step away knowing I finished my way! Big thanks to Windell's Camp, Armada, Saga and 4BI9!

didn't wanna make this edit but it looks like it was inevitable. not gonna make it to vol.3 so I decided to pursue soccer instead. Have a great summer!
I'm Pekka. A 21 years old guy. Injured pretty damn seriously on 28.4.2010. That is a date I remember well, even though I can't remember anything that happened that day. I have heard some stories from my friends about how it happened: I had yelled from the lift "I'll go one more time, this is the last one", and the last one it was. I did it because the switch double cork 10's I had done were a bit unstable. Switch doubles were an easy trick for me, but that day was windy and a really strong blast of wind grasped me and I landed way too far, over-rotating my trick. In the crash, I broke my helmet (the Sweetest black thing, that saved my life), I gained a serious / extremely serious brain injury and sank into a coma for 17 days. Next thing I know, was laying in the hospital, next summer. The rehabilitating process has been a rough one to me, but I have still been able to rehabilitate myself amazingly fast! The biggest weaknesses the injury brought along are my memory problems, which have fallen away majorly, and balance problems, which have also fallen away pretty much too. The predictions I got from doctors were pretty dark: Will be able to walk in 2 years, might not be able to ski ever again and I don't know the whole list. But what I do know: walked after about 6 MONTHS after the crash and skied for the first time after 11 months. So that's the thing in a nutshell, follow my rehabilitation in the blog!
