We visit Liberty Skis athlete Max Moffatt in his hometown of Caledon, Ontario, to see what it is like to grow up skiing in Eastern Canada. The project reveals a behind the scenes look into where everything started for the 18 year-old Canadian National Slopestyle Team athlete. The journey begins in Max's back yard at Caledon Ski Resort. The resort is home to a tight-knit group of of die-hard skiers, including the Moffatt family. Moffatt spent his early days learning to ski at the hill, and then later joined the Caledon race team. The resort plays a huge part in the love and passion that Max has today for skiing. After a few days at home, Max headed to Mount St. Louis Moonstone. What the resort lacks in vertical feet it makes up for with the world-class terrain park; it is home to some of the best skiers in the world. I've had kind of a rough past two years ski wise. With blowing my right knee out once in 2015, and then re-tearing the same knee the following year in 2016, it was questionable whether or not skiing was still worth it. After months on months of rehab, I got the okay to get back on my skis this past January, and while I was scared shitless of hurting my knee again everyday I was skiing, I managed to have one of the best seasons of my life. I figured I'd call this my 'comeback season' as I never thought I would really come back into skiing right where I left off. I can't thank my family and friends enough for the constant and continued support that helped me get over my injuries, and I cannot wait to get back on my planks this season for another great winter with many more to come.

I started skiing with Dugger about six years ago and thats when I realized he was the real animal on skis. But, last year he got a full time job and packed his bags to Miami. Although Dugger wont be around anymore, he will be remembered by being able to muscle around some of the illest rail tricks. Snowflex session 1 is officially over and what a week it was. The last night of camp 3 doubles were landed by Aidan Dowdall, Kyle Pickering and myself Patrick Tolan. It was a blast riding snowflex and hanging out with some really cool people.

From living in the wonderland that is Rusutsu to discovering Hokkaido, skiing the great jungle of bamboos, the familial and the steep parts full of mushrooms and broken trees, discovering the softest snow in Japan, touring around the infinite backcountry areas and meeting the smiliest persons in the world : our trip to Rusutsu Resorts was definitely our favorite experience of the trip to Japan we made this past January.
