The second stop of our road trip through British Columbia was a visit to our old friend Jon Whelan in Nelson. Even though we hadn't seen each other for 4 years it felt like no time had passed. Our friendship was renewed in the best way possible, 5 days straight of deep pow skiing. Whitewater is truly a paradise. With steep, challenging and playful terrain paired with tons of snow, you could spend years here and never tire of it. We had some of the best runs of our season in these 5 days and couldn't be more grateful to all the friends, old and new, that we got to share this time with. Brought my GoPro 2 with me on my first trip out west. Didn't get the best shots due to the weather and my camera, but had a ton of fun out in Whitefish.

After retiring from Olympic competition, Australian Downhill skiers Jono Brauer and Craig Branch head to Points North Heli Alaska for what was to be their next adventure, although adrenaline levels are reset when Jono crashes on an exposed face and is swept over a 100 foot cliff.

After one of the best kickoffs to winter in Quebec, Mother Earth reminded us that everything could quickly fall apart. February's incessant rain drove us to chase the snow further north-east, in the Chic-Choc Mountains, where Storm Stella forcefully welcomed us. A short film by Emile Dontigny Hope you guys enjoy, cheers!
I've never made a season edit before, but because this year was so sick, I figured why the heck not. So, after dozens of minutes of editing, here is what my GoPro and some cell phones captured this winter.
Did a lot of fun skiing this year and broke a few gopros off my head. Here's what I managed to film. Titular action from the UBC Freeride BBQ near the end

The only worthy roof for the talents of Eric Hjorleifson and Thayne Rich is in a backcountry touring hut, where life remains primitive and the skiing, well, radical. This is a complete 4FRNT adventure with great disparity between top talents, each driven to create content from alternating perspectives. What happens when you put the GAH poster boy (Hoji) in a hut with a rookie like Thayne? Does the puppy breathe life into the old dog? Does he fall in line, one kick turn at a time? The 2-part Meadow Lodge documents a 3-day adventure with Eric and Thayne in The Esplanades, an eastern sub range of The Columbia’s where the terrain flows east to the Columbia Rivers’ Kinbasket Lake. Enjoy the crafts of these two backcountry skiers as they literally ski from the door of Meadow Lodge down fluted spines, endless pillows and perfectly gladed tree runs.
