Room For Improvement // January

Part 1 of our 3 part web series Room For Improvement. After the new year Tahoe faced down one of the most impressive Januarys on record with numerous atmospheric rivers dumping millions of gallons of rain and almost 300 inches of snow on the peaks around Squaw Valley and Tahoe City. In between storms the Janky crew enjoyed some of the best conditions the area has seen in 6 years, capitalizing on amazing storm skiing and a few cold sunny days. Featuring Anthony Santos, Eli Sobel, Pete Kukesh, Jed Kravitz, Andrew Putnam, Hazen Woolson, Aaron Bushey, and Henry Holdsworth. I was lucky enough to travel to Hakuba, Japan this last winter for 5 weeks of glorious pow skiing. Lots of pow in Washington and some volcano action mixed in to top off one incredible season. Huge thanks to everyone that helped me out and made it all possible!

Stoke The Flame. Part 3

Stoke the Flame Part 3 is the concluding video for the series. We hoped for blue skies and stable snow packs this spring. Boy were we wrong. Snow continued to fall day after day right until the end of the season leaving the snow pack less than desirable and forcing us to stick to the trees. Many days we lost to complete white outs, rapid temperature changes, rising freezing levels and high avalanche conditions. We were however blessed to ski some of the deepest powder we have ever seen. Went to the north island of Hokkaido for 20 days back in January 2019. We rented an RV, skied lots of powder and tried to figure out what exactly is a ditch panther. Skiers include, Willie Nelson, Conor Pelton & Sam Watson. Shot on iPhones and GoPros.
