Yesterday was super snowy and windy day at Stubai. Normally SUPER crowded public line was closed and totally empty..It looked way too good with all the fresh snow, to not hit it. Even tho the wind was fucked sketchy. Here are couple maneuvers we managed to capture. Enjoy. @danielhanka
Smelly Socks 3.1 is, unfortunately, the one and only Smelly Socks webisode this year. Simply for two reasons: We have zero budget for this and Daniel hurt his knee. But this doesent mean Smelly Socks are done! We tried hard and made at least one this year. And we will try even harder to bring you more Smelly Socks edits in upcoming season, so dont be sad and stay tunned! This particular time for 3.1, we visited Absolut park Flachauwinkl in Austria. Daniel, Antti and Martin drove with Dans sketchy 1998 VW Golf literally overloaded with all kinds of classic shit like bags, skis, filming equipment...But also pretty gross shit, like a mixture of candies and leftover snacks on the floor, which at some point, mixed with melted snow, became some sort of nasty candysauce as we called it, while Martin was constantly complaining about Daniel driving too fast and too furious. We drove about 6 hours from Czech Republic to Flachau where we all stayed at Matthias Krallingers amazing house in the middle of the mountain. and he even has his own miniramp in a basement, where we had nice afternoon sessions after skiing with beers and a good music. Overally we had 4 days to film the edit. But as it usually is the weather didnt really cooperate, so we had 1 day off and stayed home. That left us 3 days to work with. Unlike the bummer day at home, those other days luckily worked out perfectly for us! We had 2 days of sun that we used in a park and even one deep powder day! Where Daniel and Antti tried to be like The Big Picture guys and hit cliffs and stuff on their centermounted park skis, doin countless tomahawks, calling it the best day at work ever pretty much after each hit. At this point we were also joined by everyones favourite ZuzicÂÂka Stromkova, and she was sending the cliffs with dem boyz like theres no tomorrow, leaving Daniel and Antti speechless! Daniel dropped his first cliff ever in his life and Antti was killing it as usually on his 1.0s - for example his massive nosebudda dub 10 out off totally fucking nowhere speaks for itself. The tittle says it all. The first Smelly Socks mini movie is here and it's all about the summer vibe. Daniel and Antti spent a week filming with Martin in a little, but super fun, snowpark at GFS camp Faction team week in French Tignes. Than drove together to Les Deux Alpes to be joined by Tom Ritsch and Zuzicka Stromkova to finish the filming and do million summer laps with pretty sick crew of homies. One afternoon I took a Countour camera for a ride in Balme, during the last Faction skis webisode shooting and this came up. Some of the shots are overexposed - sorry for that - probably too much bluebird, hah. You can see some "behind" the scenes shots, that were actually used in the webisode. So after the disaster, that it all got deleted. I did the whole video once more for you guys. Just chilled few laps at VARS park in France! Hey Newschoolers! I'm finally back on skis with my new knee and also with a new video project called Cruise'n'Roll. Which I'm really happy to present to you right now and I really hope you will appreciate it the same way as you did with my previous project Smelly Socks - and once more - I'm really thankful for that! But it was time to move on....and this is it! It is slightly different, but my classic ski segments are still gonna remain, just enriched about some behind the scenes of my ski life that I'm so much thankful for... Hitting big airs has always been one of my favorite things to do. As a professional rollerblader I was always limited to jumps the size that skateparks were willing to build. I originally gravitated towards skiing as a way to scratch my itch for bigger air and when a publicly accessible mega ramp was built at Woodward West the two worlds collided. I found the sports went hand-in-hand and it has been awesome to be able to take tricks from the slopes to the mega and vice-versa. So thanks to Ettiene, who sent me some footage from Faction webisode shootings. I decided to use my Movie Maker and show my mad editing skills again to share this with you guys.. These trips were absolutely unforgetable. That is also the reason I made this... As you can see, some of the shots were already used, some not and it´s pretty long. I just thought that it would be worth it, to use most of the shots. And show you also some B roll and footage that would never be published.. (WHO CAN SPOT A FLYING PIECE OF SHIT IN THE VIDEO?)
