Greetings from the White Room. Another chapter in the Renegade Saga is complete and we're nearing the end. This whole journey has been such an incredible experience! Don’t get me wrong, it’s been a ton of work but also a ton of fun and very rewarding. With the main part of production finally finished, it was time to make another journey down to Revolution to have the skis cut and ground.
Trying to recreate the Cody face when the last pair left the press.
One thing that the world loves is an intern. Their willingness to do anything and be at your personal disposal make them useful assets in the work place (if you don’t have one, it is like not having a red Swingline stapler, you might as well burn the place down). The fact that most of the time they are willing to work for free makes them worth every penny. We borrowed an intern’s truck and loaded it up with 168 pairs of skis for their final journey as conjoined twins. An additional 33 pairs trailed in the 4FRNT Magnum Wagon.
Interns… Will they ever learn?
As with any afternoon, a drive in a major metropolitan area with 168 pairs of skis in the back can get a little shaky and is a bit of a white knuckle experience. It at least kept the “low ridah” (nickname for the S-10 because of the weight) at low speeds, which meant no one got a free pair of Renegades to the face at 65 mph.
Damn, that’s a lot of skis!
As soon as we got there, Chuck and his staff at Revolution were there to help unload and we rallied the skis out of the back of the truck and the Magnum. Well, the intern and the Revolution staff did while Cody Barnhill made sure that we had a solid count of the Renegades. That was the fun part (think jagged fiberglass-infused resin embedded in the forearms) and all skis were accounted for.
A few Renegades that have been already cut, just waiting to get finished...
With that part done, it is now time to let Revolution do their thang while we switch gears and finish getting the store dialed for the grand reopening on September 22nd. If you’re in SLC, swing by around 5pm for a bbq and rider signing before the Level 1/ 4BI9 premiers. Oh by the way, if you have a pair on order already, rest assured that they will be shipping early October. If you have not preordered yet, you can do it here. Don't wait as there are only a handful of pairs left. Till next time readers, keep the stoke up and pray for snow! Thanks for tuning in.
